Nine Inch Nails ends relationship with record label

October 9, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I was always against the idea of middle man. WTF? Talent representative, recruiter and all this bullshit!

You love writing music so why do you need a freakin agent and sign contract for 3 years with this agent?

They tell you what to write and what sells and you have to take this BS?!

From creative artist you turn into a whore!

Well not anymore – thanks to an example of NIN!

Of late, Reznor has openly embraced file-sharing as a means to obtain his band’s music, telling fans in Australia to “steal it. Steal away. Give it to your friends.” In May, he sounded off on music pricing and packaging after he discovered “Year Zero” was selling for nearly U.S. $30 in Australia.

I hope that’s where the music industry is heading – free of agents!!!

September 27, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Is Domain flipping the next thing since Real Estate flipping just died?!

interesting article! My friend asked me to register a domain name for her and I was surprised how many good names(.coms)  are taken but not really developed into web sites – just sitting there parked(or not even parked – this part I don’t understand if you have a domain why not put it up-there to get a word & traffic  out) waiting to be sold.  Read full article here

Second Life Competitor – Google’s turn to show it’s own 3D Virtual World

Second Life Competitor – Google’s turn to show it’s own 3D Virtual World

Seems like Google has their own version of Second Life
I am not surprised. I liked the concept of Second Life but could not really enjoy it. Graphics are from 10 years back and very confusing to navigate for a newbie.
Google has pretty much all the components for it – Google Earth, SketchUp and Orkut to tie it all into virtual social networking. Orkut was launched in South America and hopefully will make it here by then. See full article on TechCrunch

Where to Host your Blog? Does it matter?

September 24, 2007 · 1 Comment

O yes it does matter!

There are so many free blog hosting companies – blogger.com(google), wordpress, livejournal to name few big ones. Here is my observation.

My co-worker created an account  on Blogger.com 2 weeks ago and she has about 30 hits(2 weeks!!!) as of today(according to her site meter). I’ve got 20 hits here on WordPress in 2.5 days!!! I think wordpress community promotes bloggers much better than blogger.com. I wonder what is the percentage of bloggers from blogger.com that abaondon blogs due to no traffic! Anyone know how to look it up? So far I am happy here :-) !

For all beginners in Film Making

September 22, 2007 · Leave a Comment

if you enjoy making movies or trying to break into a field here is a great forum(DVXUser.com) where you can find any questions answered – Sound, Script Writing, Camera Techniques,  Special Effects, Stunts, Video Editing , Avid, Final Cut Pro,  3D Graphics etc.

I believe in learninng on a set (assisting either photographer or film director / camera man)-  you don’t get paid but you learn so much. Just absorb the knowledge of people with years of experience and go further with on line research – forums and communities.

Adsense Secret Recipes? WTF?

September 22, 2007 · Leave a Comment

People talk about Secret Recipes for Adsense. If you buy my book I’ll tell you step by step how to do it. What kind of BS is that?

If I knew where gold  is – would I sell a book  to others with directions to it’s location?!!!

I can’t believe people are falling for this crap!!!

Here is an interesting article - from blogger -  nextwaverider on how people show a check from Adsense but don’t tell everything behind that check! Worth reading!

Another funny blog – this guy (MyGeekEgg) makes fun of – “Made $7,000 last month in google ads” type of blogs!!! He is only asking for $2,700 in 3 month not in 1 month to buy a new Apple IMac(Respek! sweet machine for video editing! Final Cut baby!)

World goes nuts with Adsense?

September 22, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Everybody talks about making money with Adsense.  hmm… should I stop selling weed and jump on the band wagon too? :-)

Does it really work?

Somehow it reminds me of “work from home” ads in the back of the newspaper! LOL!
